1/24 scale 72 Spoke Wire Wheels Hand Laced by the late Buzz Lockwood. Diameter: .7035" or 17.9 mm. Width: .2435" or 6.19 mm. Nominal 17" diameter x 6" wide wheel at 1/24 scale. I have selected several sets of tires from various 1/24th scale kits by Model Factory Hiro and Profil24 to see how they fit. Tires were intended for 16" diameter applications for Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Maserati. The fit was snug, but worked well despite the slight different in scale diameter. The fine, hand laced wires on these wheels are an excellent upgrade over typical photo-etched Borrani wire wheel sets included with most 1/24th scale model kits. They are finely painted in silver or unfinished brass. The few sets that I have are the only ones that I have ever seen. Once they are gone, they are gone forever. My later father was considered to be one of the best professional car model builders in his prime and these wheels are a fine example of his expert craftmanship. No reserve.
